My Mission for this website is to help young people with type one diabetes understand what they have

I am a teen with type one diabetes and I have chosen to build a website especially for other teen diabetics.

Oh sure, other people can learn from it too, but I think it will be a wonderful source for teens with diabetes.

I remember when I was newly diagnosed, I looked and looked for a website about diabetes made especially for teens. No matter how hard I looked I just couldn't find one.

I have chosen to build a website so that teens have a source of information that is not too wordy but easy to understand. I also would like for this information to sound personal and friendly, as if I were talking to you.

A quick note before I continue. If you would like to ask questions and/or make comments or suggestions about my website or just diabetes in general you can visit my contact me page and shoot me and email.

I would love to hear what you have to say.

If you have any kind of insulin pump and would like to write about your experience and why you like it or don't like it I would be more than happy to read through it and possibly put it up on my website. As you know, I can only use one insulin pump so that kind of limits my knowledge about the others.

If you would like to add some thoughts to my website, please feel free to email me and I will read it and let you know if and when I publish it. Thank you!

I remember when I was diagnosed I was actually smiling. I had no clue what I was being diagnosed with.

They had told me that they thought it was diabetes but that is what made me laugh.

I always thought that diabetes was something only old people were diagnosed with. I didn't realize that there were two types of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes mostly older people and overweight people acquire and Type one diabetes mostly younger people and children are diagnosed with.

I thought I was in the clear, but really I was just clueless.

I don't want all you to be clueless as I was! Even after I started learning more about diabetes care, I was still pretty clueless.

I believe now that more and more people are being diagnosed with type 2 and type one diabetes we should all be at least a little bit knowledgeable in this area.

Especially all of us who are struggling with this disease or who have a friend who is struggling with it, should definitely be knowledgeable!

Just to let you know, this information that I am providing on my website is mostly from experience. Some of it came from books, but the majority of it is purely from experience.
